    Hi guys.Have never really been into running.But over the last couple of weeks have been running 8km runs about 5 times a week.I find that my soles are starting to get sore.

    Is 8km a good run?I am not really sure if its best.Like, I know I could do more but around 8km mark, my legs start to get heavy.I usually do the 8km run in about 46-48 minutes.Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.Thanks guys.

    Sounds like you have gone from zero to twenty five miles a week instantly. That's a bit of a big jump. What were you doing before you started running 25 miles a week?

    Like LouthAndProud says, you've made a bit of a sudden jump. 8km is a big enough number to start at. The surface you are running on or the shoes you are wearing or the way you run could be causing your feet to get sore. If it seems to be because of the quantity of your running then I'd be inclined to try keeping with the 5 days per week, but drop the distance right down, maybe to 4k. Then build back up slowly to the 8km over the next few months.

    4 km on the crosstrainer at level 20.Some weights.Maybe 2/3 km running.Just bac from the gym there and I did 10 km in under 57 mins.Would I be doing myself harm going from that level to this level?

    Not necessarily but you are increasing your chances of injury big time, there's a lot of factors involved. Generally however the rule with running is to start off with low millage and build up by no more than 10% p/w in total and no more than 10% for longest single run in the week to minimize injury risk. I would say starting off at 5 X 8 km is a bit brave, probably would be better to start with 3 or 4 x 4km's and build from there, you also need good running shoes too, and try to do a good portion of your running on grass or soft ground.
