    its started in the UK.
Mobile company orange teaming with barkeys will allow you to use your phone to pay for things in stors. Will be for small items as they dont want to lose there CC business. Still means not carrying loadsof chance.

Though will this increase mobile phone thefts? Well either way we are getting close to the "your life in one device" idea

They actually had this in 1999 so you could buy cans of coke with your phone. didn't use any of this new fangled (and less secure) RFID ****e but they had them installed at Eircell and eventually they had to get rid of them because the people who had their bill paid by Eircell were buying ****loads of coke with it.

but i`ll stick to using cash :) kthxbai

Not sure if its Japan or Hong Kong. But you can pay for your rail ticket with your mobile. The rail company sends you the image of a barcode which you scan thru at the turnstyle. I think it uses the Imode service

Thats was four or five years ago. So its all old news.

Edit :I cant belive that this is the seventh post and still nothing form Run_to_the_hills. Has he been taken out.

They have been using phones to pay for stuff in Korea for a while now, all banks go through a central clearing house.

i suppose it makes sense to use your phone to pay for stuff in japan. you don't really want to be seen shoving cash into a used panty vending machine..
