Im using windows 2000 and a crappy little chinese wireless usb dongle. I'm trying to connect to my own home wireless router. I don't have the original cd that came with the usb dongle. And windows 2000 doesn't seem to automatically pick up wireless networks.

is there a program I can use to connect to the network?

It's not going to work if the wifi adapter is not installed now, is it?

you best bet would be to do a bit of googling the device model numebr etc and try and find a set of drivers for it

I have the drivers, but the program that came with it was a poorly made chinese bug-ridden yoke.

Isn't there any way to do it through windows 2000 itself?

Use the hardware installation tool in the control panel and point to the drivers when required.
