    Hey,

I want to buy a car in the UK and bring it back here and save loads of money.

I understand you can be VRT exempt if you've have the car in the UK for over 6 months or so. Is this true?
What are the parameters/requirements for this exemption?

I work for an English company and go over and back every few weeks. But I pay tax here in Ireland. I thibk you may have to have paid tax in the UK to get the exemption but I'm not sure.

    anyone know about this?

    Thanks

Have you looked here at similar cars yet?

And afaik, you have to be a resident of the UK for 6 months and you have to be able to prove it.

think you have to live in the UK as I did this before I came home, bought my car and came home a couple of years later. you had to show utility bills, something from employer in the uk etc ... can't remember all the details but lots of bits and pieces had to be accumulated ... i'm sure there must be something on a website which gives all the info? can't remember - bit of a sieve head i'm afraid! good luck
