These new speed vans I have been seeing all over the place in the last two weeks, are these the privateers coming on line ? These are new white low roofed transits, and not marked. I thought all the new Garda ones were to be marked, but I've never seen a marked one. Do these new ones have front facing cameras as well ? I have seen them parked face on to approaching traffic.

saw one this morning on the nass road, and a motorbike in front of it, not sure what that was about.

As far as i know, only the Gardai can operate a speed van like that.

I've seen that van around there alot, sometimes its at the top of the long mile road opposite the Esso, and other times its just after the Texaco on the Naas road.

I'd say its the replacement for the 9 year old van that used to operate around here until very recently.

As for the bike, was it a marked unit?

it was before the citywest exit today, which i thought was strange, no it wasn't marked, but was right up to the front of the can, so had something to do with it.
