    Hello :)

My boyfriend has been asked to sing a few songs at a friends wedding. So far they have pretty much decided on Jeff Bukley's halleluia and Amazing Grace. Bearing in mind that he will just be singing himself with a guitar- can anyone think of any other songs that might work in the context?

    Thanks :)

Nothing Else Matters. It's easily toned down and shortened.

Be careful as I believe the Catholic Church now only allows hymns at ceremonies. So you have two options, check first or keep schtum and surprise the priest on the day......

I hope he has seriously edited Hallelujah! The sentiments are really not suitable for a wedding and I can imagine a lot of priests having a problem with it.

'Fields of Gold' is a good bet.

    +1

The lyrics of this song are not suitable for long and happy marriages.

Yeah He will only sing a little bit. He doesnt think its too appropriate either- but the bride loves it. Thanks for all the comments.

i have experience singing at church weddings. the songs we usually use are
annies song- lovely for a male voice
the voyage -great for a male voice
in a country churchyard- may be more suited to female voice
    the river
    the rose
    better by tom baxter
i will by the beatles- short and sweet.
    lean on me
    the clouds veil
    no frontiers
    from this moment- shania twain
personally i love annies song and the voyage especially with a male voice and guitar only.
