    Hey guys,

This may be a long shot. I'm looking for a VPN software client for a windows 2003 server 64 bit.... Any idea where I could get one?

    Thanks

You'll have to elaborate a bit.

I mean there is a VPN client on Windows Server 2003.
What exactly are you looking for?
    What should it support?

What "server" is it connecting to?

Hamachi, simple to setup and works for me on Vista 64

    Hi Sorry bout that.
I have a network that is behind a Checkpoint firewall (safe@office 500 adsl). One of the machines on the network is a windows 2003 32bit server. I need to get an external user to connect to that server from the internet via a VPN. Their machine is a windows 2003 64bit server.
For whatever reason the windows vpn inbuilt software does not work with the checkpoint firewall. Ive even tried establishing a connection between a winxp machine using inbuilt vpn software but it just cant establish a connection...

So i'm looking for a 64bit vpn software client to work with the external server. Checkpoint released a 32bit client no problem, but just dont seem to have a 64bit ??

Checkpoint's own securemote client is available in 64-bit, for Vista at least. I'd be surprised if it doesn't support Server 2003 x64 too.

    +1

Have never worked with Checkpoint but I really want to.

Well I would have tried L2TP or PPTP between the Winservers directly and allowed it on the firewall... if I was really stuck.

What services do you need to get to on the 2003 box? I would throw SSHD onto the Windows Server and then open the checkpoint box to allow access to it on your required port. You can then tunnel through the SSH tunnel whatever services you want to the Windows 2003 server.

BTW, the OS type of the server shouldn't really influence the VPN client. The VPN client shouldn't really care if the destination server is Windows, Linux, 64bit etc, as long as it sticks to the required VPN protocol standards.
