    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Dublin that will buy 2nd hand vinyl? I've looked around and it seems like freebird records are the only option - but I'd like to know if there are others. Also, I don't want to get ripped off, so does anyone know how much records are worth these days? It's a bit of a mix of stuff country, classical, Irish, pop and rock. Nothing newer than early 90's either I think - haven't really cataloged it yet.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Ed

I'm pretty sure that nobody will take classical vinyl. You can't give that stuff away. Spindizzy in the George's Street Arcade would probably take a lot of your other stuff - I'm pretty sure that they're still buying in vinyl - but I'd do up a list and bring it in to them first. No sense hauling a pile of records into town only to have them refuse half of them.

2024 Gigs and Events: David Suchet, Depeche Mode, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Smile, Pixies, Liam Gallagher John Squire/Jake Bugg, Kacey Musgraves (x2), Olivia Rodrigo, Mitski, Muireann Bradley, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Eric Clapton, Girls Aloud, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Rewind Festival, The Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer, Henry Winkler, P!nk, Pearl Jam/Richard Ashcroft, Taylor Swift/Paramore, Suede/Manic Street Preachers, Muireann Bradley, AC/DC, Deacon Blue/Altered Images, The The, blink-182, Coldplay, Gilbert O'Sullivan, Nick Lowe, David Gilmour, ABBA Voyage, St. Vincent, Public Service Broadcasting, Crash Test Dummies, Cassandra Jenkins.

in all fairness mate, unless you have anything genuinely sought after your records are worth at best one or two euro a pop in most second hand shops - and that's if they're in great nick

classical and country / irish stuff is pretty much worthless unless it's of value to a specific collector, the same with most pop and rock - especially if it was a popular release or a chart hit (because they would have pressed up loads of the buggers)

you're probably best off bringing them into Oxfam

    Cheers lads,
I'd kinda guessed as much, tbh I'd be happy with €1 a pop. I'll be making a list at the weekend so, and I'll try spindizzy.
    Thanks,
    Ed
