cheap way to get to Transylvania/Romania?

    hi there and thanks for taking a moment to read this :)

    I'm looking for the best/cheapest flights or way to get to Transylvania or Bucharest.

    I'm hoping to go to a summer music festival in Sibiu in Transylvania which around 220k from Bucharest so a fly/drive is not unreasonable if I can't get a cheap flight directly to Sibiu.

    The problem I'm finding is that everything is working out at more than €300 return from Dublin.
    Anyone done this trip on the cheap and can offer some advice on how to get it down close to what we'd pay if our beloved Ryanair (yes, I'm a fan) were going there.

    aer lingus flies quite cheap to bucharest, i usually pay about 160 euro return. there's trains that go to sibiu, or you might be able to get a cheap in-country flight. you will have to get a taxi from the airport to the center of bucharest, watch out cos they do try to rip you off. you could also drive...it's a pretty straight road from the airport. exit the airport right, go straight for about 200 km till you reach brasov, cross the city and it's pretty much straight again from brasov to sibiu.
