Does anyone know if there is a late night cinema in Dublin? Just had a goo on me tonight to go to a late movie and the latest showing in all the normal places was about 9.30
Anyone know of anywhere that shows a later film?

You're leaving it very late.. but no I'm afraid not.

Vue cinema might do a midnight shower on a major release but that's all I know. Sorry.

well I meant for another night... I've left it way too late for tonight.
I'd never even heard of Vue so thanks for that. Its a shame though that there isn't a place like the Stella used to be.....handy, local and open late.

Im always surprised that most cinemas laest screenings are around 9.30.
I guess to stay open any much longer after 12 would mean having to pay a lot of overtime.

yeah, I suppose they'd need to know it was going to popular before they tried it...
I reckon it would be though... anyone I've mentioned it to recently has been up for it

I blame the multiplexes. Back in the days of the one-screen cinema, late-night screenings were more commonplace - it just costs too much to keep an 8-screen cinema open for a small crowd. One-off screenings of cult/older films just don't exist anymore. You can usually get a late-show of new films at the weekends (Friday/Saturday) though.

cineworld usually have 10:20 or 10:30 showing of 1 or 2 films on the weekends but that seems to be the latest

Vue out in Liffey Valley do late night showings (starting between 23.00 and 00.10) but only on Friday and Saturday nights.
