Hey new to all this so bare with me, am getting married in February 2010 i have just spotted lovely bridesmaid dresses they are Alfred Angelo 6493 colour eggplant, my question is has anyone had these dresses for their wedding, what they thought of the dress and would they be worth while buying them on the internet as the are $105 on the internet and €230 in the shops,

Lovely dress! You have plenty of time so I would chance the internet versions. Be careful of the sizes though as American sizes are different to ours. Maybe buy one size bigger as it's always easier to size the dress down.

I bought my bridesmaid dresses on the internet and they arrived within 3 days from Canada and were just perfect!:)

so funny i'm getting married march 2010 and considering that colour too and buying them off the web, thinking i'll just chance it and if all goes wrong monsoon is always there. People buy their wedding dresses online so i'm doing a trial run with bridesmaids first. let me know how u get on

    Congratulations!

Dresses online are far cheaper but be aware that you will most definitely be charged taxes and American sizes are quite different to ours, bigger is better!
Be aware also that some of these American sites do not accept returns under any circumstances, so deal with a site that will take them back if you're happy!

    Best of luck

I would recommend www.rkbridal.com - there are a lot of sites out there that are not authentic. Do measure yourselves though, a size bigger may not be enough, as bridesmaid dresses, and american sizes are weird. I am a size 11/12 here, and had to order the size 15, and get it adjusted (mostly around the boobage area).

It's usually the other way around in day clothes isn't it. I'm a 12 here and when I go shopping in the states, I'm usually trying on size 8's. I wonder why bridal stuff is different?

What my OH did was get everyone to try on the dresses in Dublin and then she ordered the sizes online. It's working out fine. Obviously I know nothing about women's clothing - I assume the US size is printed on the label?

Hi i was bridesmaid at my best friends wedding and we wore 6901 in lavender which is similar to the style you're getting. We went to a dress shop in Monaghan as the girl charged i think between €130-150 for each dress, alot cheaper than in Dublin. They all had to be altered though for each of us so just be careful of that when buying online. We all needed them taken in at the waist and the bust. Id say my friend saved the guts of around €200 doing it that way. I cant remember the name of the shop offhand but pm me if you want me to find out.

If you'd consider lavender (next shade to eggplant) we'd definitely sell ours to you size 8,10 and 18 (irish sizes)

edit: remembered the name its http://www.myfairladyformalwear.com/ the website is a bit 80s looking dont mind that
