Australian Working in Ireland

    Hi,

Friend of mine from Oz has been working here on the working holiday visa and been in the same position for nearly 3 months.

I remember from my time in Australia that i could work with one employer for up to 6 months - is this the same for Australians working in Ireland or is it 3 months?

    Thanks,

    Jugs

Why don't you ask your friend?

Im writing the post on her behalf as she wants to find out

Honestly, that was a fairly strange post - 'if you havent got anything to say, then.....'

Sorry man. I just assumed she would know the details of her work visa more than an Irish person would, since we would never require a visa to work here.

    Apologies.

3 months with any one employer (although dunno how strict this is)

Sorry to say this but they are mad being in Ireland. Regardless of how the situation is developing in Oz I would head back there and try and secure a job before it goes really bad. At least they have the weather and lifestyle there. We have feck all at the moment. Good luck in finding something anyways.

If you're wanting Irish visa information, best to look on an Irish government website, like citizen's information, or here: http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=80991

I've had Kiwi friends who worked here on WHV's without any talk of three month limits. But maybe because Oz imposes them, Ireland does in return.

Edited to say I read the question wrong. Yes your right it is 6 months for us Irish in Australia and only 3 months for Australians working in Ireland. It used to be 3 months for us but the Australian goverment changed it a few years ago.
