hi peeps, just a question, ill be changing my insurance next wednesday from a peugeot 206 up to a primera eGT, my insurance with the 206 has me repaying about 100 a month, with a new quote on the primera it would be about 113 a month repayments

the reason im waiting is cos ill be 21 next wednesday, bla bla

ok so i ring quinn to get them to change it over on the date etc and they say that the current policy would shoot up to 170 repayments a month:confused:

it would work out cheaper to cancel my old policy, and open a new one, and still get 3 months extra on the policy?? does anyone know what this is all about and why??

That's Quinn for you, TBH. Have you discussed it with them? How long is left on your current policy?

Quinn quote their prices which are only valid to the end of the business day on which they are given, if you ring in a fwe days time, it may go down, or up, but that is Quinn, i know, i'm an insurance broker, and our hearts are broken from them. Keep chancing them and see the differences from day to day, you might be pleseantly or not so, surprised.

Sorry, but we don't do young driver's. Have you tried X/S Direct on the web.

Obviously without knowing the details of you or the car, its impossible to give an idea of price, but at 21 on a high rated vehicle, insurance is goin to be expensive. Also older cars, and i mean those over 5yrs in some cases attract a loading from some insurers, as do Jap imports or Spec motors. This is due to the extra cost of importing specific parts, difficulty in obtaining parts and labour costs etc. Not a very staright-forward thing, is insurance. Have you tried Coyle Hamilton Willis in Dublin, or ARB again Dublin, they deal with the "unusual" cases.
