Fuel surcharge

Is there still such a thing as fuel surcharge? i am looking at booking flights to malta for a wedding and a travel agent im in contact quoting me 25 euro per person fuel surcharge. I thought this was abolished

Some airlines still charge fuel surcharges.

Aer Lingus got rid of theirs recently - perhaps that's what you're thinking of?

Ryanair fly to Malta from Dublin no fuel surcharge but plenty of other charges.
