Why you'd want to be "that guy" I don't know, but anyway they sell them IIRC in the wrestling shop in Stephens Green.

There is a place up on Bolton street, dunno what the selection is like as I have only noticed it when driving by. Unless you built like a fighter the majority of these clothes will fit you pretty bad though.

Indeed. I don't wear that sort of clothing myself, but I find it funny when people criticise it, and it's mainly people who train in MMA too, although that could be in part due to the average person just not having an opinion on the matter

The fact that Tapout have supported so many fighters who needed that support, guys on the lower levels of MMA, I think that it's good to support them too

What do you mean by LCD anyway?

Obviously that's relevant in some way, what it could possibly be I don't know.

They aim low to try to make as many middle class kids think that they're being "street" or "tough" by wearing the gear. They're not the first to do it and they won't be the last. My comments were throwaway anyway and I wasn't really trying to get at anyone. If you found out Shell were clubbin baby seals to get to new oil deposits you probably wouldn't support their petrol, I've seen Tapout ads that support gang rape so I won't be buying their gear.

My mistake it was actually date rape by multiple people... so only a form of gang rape. In a mag, showed a bunch of lads standing around a passed out girl with something like a what would tapout do? theme to it.

The brand started out as guys selling t-shirts out of the back of a car after mma gigs. Im sure you could support worse companys than tapout to be honest. For example adidas or nike runners, which have been made in labour camps.

Yeah I should actually point out I don't really give a shiite I just made a bit of a throwaway comment.

I don't believe you. So you're saying that Tapout endorsed "date rape by multiple people"? First you say they promoted "gang rape", then it's "date rape" - you throw those phrases around casually, and they're both serious accusations! Then people ask you for proof & you have none - probably because you're making it up for shock value - maybe you just don't like Tapout or something. Any adverts I've ever seen for Tapout have never even hinted at anything close to this ridiculous crap you're spouting. Same goes for anyone else who replied here - you seem to be the only one who has seen these adverts!

That's like me saying "hey, did anyone see those child porn ads Coca Cola did a few months ago" - yet I have no proof, it's far fetched, the notion is ridiculous, and nobody else has ever seen anything close.

You can't just make stupid throwaway comments like that - it's slander: so get proof, or you're full of sh*t.

BTW - I don't even like Tapout, but I'll call out anyone who spouts ridiculous slanderous garbage.

If it was on the UG, perhaps it was just a joke created by someone who posts there?

Although Roper did say that it was in a magazine originally :pac:

There's a good chance it was, but as I recall there was a mag pic posted with it.

I actually really don't care about this enough to be proven right so you guys should go ahead and assume I'm wrong.

Then maybe you shouldn't go around spreading stupid rumours that are clearly false.

How would you like if someone starting making vicious rumours up about your MA school? Then when they were asked to prove their claims, they said the simply weren't arsed. I assume you'd be fine with it, since you have no problem doing it to other people.

Is that why you intentionally threw away that Xyience hoodie at my last show?:pac:

Aside from Tapout obviously, I'm not against MMA gear on some general principle I just think that a lot of it is cack. I like FCF stuff though and Twins keep sending me the same free t-shirt. I could actually wear a new Twins Lumpini shirt for 5 consecutive days but people would only think I didn't change my clothes. Other than that I wear my gym's tees and hoodies out and about and to work.

I have to say I always suspected that there was a subset of MMA fans in Ireland but when I went to the UFC in January I actually couldn't believe the amount of lads there all decked out in Tapout, Affliction, FCF and all those brands who were in the place and obviously dedicated armchair supporters of the sport. I suppose a bit like the Premiership versus the League of Ireland, I wish those same people would support the local game as well.

    So Big Wave

Essentially Barry was right and you shouldn't say things like this? Or at least you had no grounds to say he was slanderous and full of sh1t? And if date rape by multiple people is implied then this would qualify as gangrape.

So nameless faceless guy by all means continue your rant against non-anonymous cornerstone of Irish MMA. Tapout have always skirted the boundaries of taste. They made money off being "there for you to hate". I don't think they need defending.
