Looking at getting a new 3 wood and either a 5 wood or Rescue club

Anyone recommend a place around N4/N7 corridor to getting fitted for the above.

Haven't decided on either a 5 wood or rescue club.

Would hope to spead no more than 300 for both which I think can be done for a good club.

Any recommendations on what make and to go for either a 5 wood or rescue.

If I go for a 5 wood I like a nice small headed one which makes me think it could be better going for a rescue 3 iron in the end but looking for advice.

Early double digits handicap. Would it be a good idea to go for last season models?

I have the TaylorMade burner in the 07 version and have just ordered a second one of the same 07 version in a lower loft so I would have no issue in an 'older' model if you like the club. It has a nice small head to it.
The #4 rescue in this model is 22 degrees and for me it's slightly longer than a 3 iron but shorter than a 5 wood. Much higher flight than my 3 iron.
The one I've ordered is a 19 degree #3 rescue and I'm hoping that will fit in below my 3 wood and I'll mostly keep the 3 iron out of the bag. I might miss it for lower flighted shots but will get more benefit from the 2nd rescue.
The 3 wood I have is a TM burner TP version which has a very nice small shallow face on it too.

I'd recommend getting fitted for the shafts and wouldn't worry too much about what season the heads were from once you like the look of them.

If your budget allows...otherwise you could try Swing Studio in Celbridge Driving Range who are located in the unit which McGuirk's used to operate out of. A few friends of mine have been fitted up there and were happy with the results. I've no experience of them myself however.

They charge €100 to get measured up? Is this taken off the price of the clubs?

Thanks for that. Do they deal in all brands?

I don't think they would stock the same selection as McGuirk's do but I know they have some lesser known brands that are popular in the States.

Mate of mine who plays off 2 picked up an Alpha driver (used when winning 6 Remax World Long Drive Championships) there some time ago and is consistently long and straight with it. I had a try of it a couple of weeks back up in Carton and it felt really good. Might be an option for you.
