Just wondering if anyone can help me with a mistake I have made on my sage. SageCover is far too expensive and they dont offer a pay a you go option which is a pitty. I have been using sage since 2005 and most times I have been able to sort out mistakes but not this time, help.

Problem: I went to write off / Refund as I wanted to write off an invoice in my cash account, however i inadvertently selected write of customer acc and not write off customer transaction. So now all my cash account has been written off, although when you proceed with this option its like it lets you select a tranaction so that how i made my blunder. I have been to maintanence and it will not allow me to delete this transaction as its already classed as a reversed item.

If anyone can shed some light on this I would be most gratefull as I have done quite alot of work on sage recently and yes I know I should have made regular back up so as to be able to restore, but i didn't:o

    Sounds like trouble.

I can not believe Sage can let you do that.

Anyway to solve your problem you need to print out a report showing each transaction that was affected in the write off and then write them back again manually.

So you are reversing the reversal as such.

I do not use Sage nor have I never (except in College) so I can not remember how it is done.

Ring Sage and ask them for help, then ask for the bill :D

have you tried restoring your last back-up, assuming that you have not done too much work since the last back-up

    Cheers Kluivert & Boom Boom.

I have done a considerable amount of work since my last back up so I will cry if I have to restore and do it all again. Anyway I did ring sage so no support no can do. I rang the agent i bought the software from and am waiting for him to call me back as he may know how to recitify this problem.
I know I can re-input the invoices but its the dates and the VAT change so not sure how to do.

If u have an accountant ring them and tell them the problem as they will have dealer sage support and will be able to rectify the problem for u. If not i think your best option will be to prin out an audit trail and redo any of the transactions affected.

    Yeah
Thank to all for your advice, I think I have to give in on this one and just redo invoices that I deleted or else restore from last back up and redo all the hard work. I will make sure to save at regular intervals this time:):)

My company offers a per call basis support if your interested.

If you're badly stuck i could have a look at it for you on a results basis. We could export all your transactions from now to your last backup, restore the last backup and re import transactions again.

    Hi Nigel

Its me again. I was wondering if you can help me. I have recently been having a problem with my Sage in that it is shutting down when I double click on a product, customer or a supplier, this does not happen when I double click on an invoice. I have backed up my files and tried to unistall and reinstall the software, this seemed to have the work the last time I was having problems but not now. I have also done a system restore on my PC back to day before I starting having this problem.

    Cheers

    Tracey
