Anyone here use GPS data with their photos? Thinking of buying Sony GPS-CS1 . Every 15sec it records its position which you are then able to synch with the photos metadata so you can record where you took your photos.

I was wondering though if its possible to do this with a regular sat-nav so I could find my way to an interesting shoot (and back) and synch the data.

I have a Nokia N95 with GPS and would love to track where I've been. Anyone done this?

usually such systems will match the time of your GPS device trail (gpx file) with the time stamp of your .JPG or .RAW hence its kinda importrant to have the timings of both devices sync'd.

Most software also has a feature to correct any difference between the two after the fact if you forget to set the time accurately on the camera at the time. The GPS time is accurate by definition, so it's just a matter of seeing what the difference is between the camera and the GPS time.
