Lost my job and finding it hard to get back into the social care field as don't have 3rd level. Am over the politics and frustrations of it anyway. Really want to work with animals and do dog walking... I live in Bray and have transport, anyone know of someone who needs their dog walked/ cat fed etc etc?

why don't you try and get into child minding instead of animals? Creche's are getting away with murder charging people 50 euro per day and the kids don't get anything near the individual attention they require. I'm sure people would give their right arm for someone to call over to their house in the morning, pick up their child, and spend the day with it for half of what they pay a creche.

I thought about childminding but its more complex and involves insurance, etc. That said, I do have a Garda clearance certificate from last year which I got through my previous job. I was thinking with the dog walking that I'd do a sliding scale as well, so someone who couldn't walk their dog because of mobility problems, age etc wouldn't be charged much, you know? I also have a big garden, which is handy as there ain't much park space in Bray!

There's a park in Woodbrook Glen / Corke Abbey if that's any use.

The estates are at the crossroad at Old Connaught Avenue. If you're heading towards Shankill from Bray, take a right after the garage on the right-hand side, rather than a left up Old Connaught. Take the first right into Corke Abbey, and then follow the road around to the left and the entrance to the park is at the end. It's a small enough park, but might suit you. Alternatively, there is Shangannah park by the cemetery, which is huge.

Here it is on Google maps

If you're getting into commercial dog-walking, I suspect you need insurance for that. Imagine what could happen if a pooch under your control caused a traffic accident, or bit someone, or got attacked by another dog.

(Not sure if you need insurance to do childminding as an employee in the child's own home, either.)
