    Im guessin this place isn't just for guitars and drums :P
    anywhos,
    does anyone have any good suggestions for alto saxophones for intermediate to professional players?
    I've been playing for 7 years now and think its time to get a better more.... moody.... sax :P

    How much do you have to spend? Theres a nice little shop on Eustace street in Dublin (just next to temple bar) that sells all woodwind instraments, the guy in there (think his name is Paul) is lovely and he really knows his stuff. He could sort you with one for around 800/900 if I recall correctly. Or he had a really nice one last time I was in but that was about 3000. It depends on your budget really.

    Just got my first ever saxophone w00t! Really lovin' it so far but it is rather loud. I know there is no such thing as a sax mute but is there any way I can quieten it a bit? I live in an apartment block and I doubt the neighbors want to hear me sqeuking away.

    What reed strenght are you using. I hear the softer reeds e.g. 1.5 have a quiter sound.
