iPod Touch/iPhone handy hints & tips

To take a screenshot of your current page - click briefly the menu button and the top power button and it will save a snapshot in your pictures folder.

May only work for 2nd gen Touch, not sure about the rest.

Might be obvious:
When in safari if you touch the bar at the top of screen it will automatically scroll to the top.
Double clicking the home button brings up ipod controls when you are playing music (default setting)

I'm on a 1st Gen iPhone and I find that turning the screen brightness down to around 10-15% results in substantial improvement in times between charges.

Also turning off Bluetooth and Wifi when not in use helps.

If your official iPhone headphones break, ring up Apple support and they'll send you a new pair!

The mic/track button just broke on mine and I rang Apple who took my iPhone serial number and are sending me a new set for nowt.

Okay so not really a "tip" - but useful to know as the headphones are pretty flimsy.
Also - the replica ones on eBay are complete shyte.

That little yokie has a few features in it, well 2 to be exact. When listening to tunes, press it once to pause, double press it to skip to the next tune!

And three quick presses brings you back to the begining of the song your listening to and another quick three and your back another song. ( I think this was added on update 2.0)

So it wasn't just me? I had the exact same problems, crap audio and the damn things didn't even fit into the iPhone socket. Which reminds me, I must send them back.

Then again, I wasn't willing to pay €30 to O2 in Grafton St.

You think that's bad? I got talking to a guy in the lift at work today who didn't realise the ipod touch had speakers and you didn't need headphones until I mentioned it today. He's had the thing since Christmas!

Do the iPhone earphones with the mic work with iPod Touch, I'm thinking of Skype. Also is the sound any good out of the them? Any of the office apple earphones I've had before were pretty bad.

If you quickly double click the Home button on an ipod touch you bring up a music menu that allows you play music while you're using the browser or email or whatever.
It was new to me!:)

To get a super zoom on your screen, close your thumb and index finger together then drag them apart on the screen, to bring it back to normal size drag your thumb and index finger back in together.

yeah i use them for Skype on the Ipod Touch. Pretty good sound and the person on the other end can hear me ok too.
