    Hey Everyone,

I was quite competitive in school etc and was riding every week competitions, cross country etc. Then college and life took over and because i never owned my own horse it was easy to slip out of the routine. In the following ten years i have been riding on occasion mainly holidays etc but nothing regular. Really want to get back into it now i have more money and a bit more free time. I think i might do a few private lessons to get rid of my rustiness but then i would love to maybe concentrate on one element was thinking maybe dressage. Has anyone any ideas in regards to equestrian centres, i am currently living in Dublin 6 so would love somewhere as near to there as i can get. And then has anyone any advice on any dressage specialists or clubs etc etc? would really love any advice anyone has. Thanks so much

Hey, that's great that you're getting back into riding again. A few private lessons sound like a good idea to get back into it. There are a few places around Dublin that I can think of off the top of my head - Carrickmines, Brennanstown (bit outside Dublin, I know), Kilronan, Coolmine. I haven't been to any of them so I don't know what they're like, but you can always go and have a look/talk to them before you commit to having a lesson there.

Re. dressage lessons, there's one place in Kildare I know of who specialise in dressage lessons, so if you want contact details, PM me.

If you're interested in doing a bit of schooling towards better flatwork, there's a few of us having a fun-day with a bit of everything in Limerick (bit of a hike though), and we'll be going through all the basics for supple-ing up horses for ridden work and working on seat cues, inhand work, etc, which would all be good for dressage. PM me if you want the details.
