    As most might have noticed, the time is almost upon us again for us to cast our votes.

    Heres a reminder of how we voted last time.

    The question is.

    What do we want from them this time?

    Cobh Town Council.

    Given the current climate we are living in I will be wanting assurance the candidates will do what’s best for the town, so we don’t have another 4 years of petty party politics bickering, and failure to make decisions (unpopular in there party) when the time comes because they are afraid to stick there heads above the parapet.

    Tourism has to be taken to the next level, door stepping the passengers with leaflets when they arrive on the cruise is too late, we need to be getting on the itineraries of these cruises before they depart there home port. If you visit some of the websites of the cruises arriving in Cobh, the town doesn’t even get a mention.

    The cancer hot spot has to be taken seriously, this is a huge issue for the town that seems to be getting swept under the carpet. Where is it coming from? A complete sensus of the town needs to be carried out to try determine what the connection is, what is the source.
    Community events. It was with great pride I walked around the town in the summer during the cruise events, bands playing, stalls setup. A good environment for families and a great advertisement for the town.

    Cork County Council.

    It’s certainly time for new blood.
    God only knows we have seen a number of elections go by now and some one chooses to sign post there name all along the "monument to failure" along the fota road, will we see it again this time? We certainly need someone who is approachable.

    So the question to you is;
    What do you want from those you will soon elect?
