Hi, I am just a bit worried about the pea size lump I have in my gums just above my crowned right front teeth, it has been 10 years since I had this lump, it never grew in size and not that painful unless you press it hard. It used to have a pus discharge. I had already 3 session of root canal therapy and my doc already applied topical antibiotic in the canal but the lump is still there. She also said that if the lump will not go away, she opt to have surgery. Is anyone here have the same problem as i have? Is this to be a considered a serious problem? I pray to God that its not something I should worry about.

I have a lump like this, but over my left front teeth, since 1985. It flared into a full blown abcess as a result of a root canal (prior to crowning) in 1997, and settled back down again to the same old size. I just had the tooth re-crowned and it has, suddenly, all but drained.

The only time it gave me pain was when it flared.

    Don't worry too much.

hey, i had something similar, i went to the doctor first he gave me an antiboitic tablet to take for a week cant remember what it was exactly but maybe your body needs an antibiotic to help fight the infection. the lump on my gum didnt go away after the a/b so went to the dentist she performed a root filling and it all cleared up think it was the a/b tablets and the filling! the dentist did say it wasnt anything to worry about and the pus was a good sign that your body is trying to fight it and the lump appears just as an escape route so to speak :D if theres no pus anymore maybe youve fought the infection and the gum has just adopted a new shape!
