i have to watch a cartoon as i'm falling asleep, it's odd i know but i've run out of things to watch.

here's what i've been watching these last few years

    classic simpsons
    futurama
    south park
    family guy
    dilbert
    and some anime.

i'd rather not watch animes as 1. it's not really prime time cartoonish and 2. my whilst my japanese is above average i still need to concentrate on subtitles.

i'd like something very witty (like the old simpsons) and quite high intelligence (like dilbert).

don't suggest drawn together because i never really liked that :P

i look forward to your suggestions.

The Boondocks. witty, intelligent and it's about a black family so you get a nice multicultural feeling when you watch it.

Are you looking for comedy cartoons or just cartoons in general?

    Comedy:
Undergrads (little known one that only ran for 1 season but its great)
    God, The Devil and Bob
    Earthworm Jim
    Johnny Bravo

    Action:
    Avatar: The Last Airbender
    Spiderman (90's version)
    Samurai Jack
    X-men (90's version)

I'll second God, The Devil and Bob. Haven't seen it in ages but I have fond memories of it, Earthworm Jim too.

Ha! So very very funny. RTE were showing it at some graveyard hour (like so many of their quality imports), so I had no idea it was THAT funny. I'll have to check it out :)

Oh and Creamy Goodness, the new "Wolverine and the X-Men" cartoon aint too bad. I expected it to be a crappy tie-in with the movie, but after the initial 3-part pilot episode, it actually starts to go somewhere. You know a cartoon is aiming a little higher when every episode starts with a short "previously on....." bit :D The best thing about it so far are the random appearances of characters that would normally never get to see, so fanboys, go seek it OUT!

Ya i know, typical of RTE to show it at a time nobody is watching. I have only seen an episode on RTE 2 and a few snippets on youtube thus far but its looking quite promising despite the dreadful animation

Metalocalpyse. You'll catch up fast because they're only 10 minutes per episode, but it's 10 minutes of goodness!
