    Hi,

I'm thinking of buying and E220 coupe but can't find any with less than 100k on the clock.
Anyone know if this model is good for that kind of mileage, also what should I look for if test driving?
    thanks

I wouldn't consider 100 k high mileage on one of these. They are a class car and should be good for 300k . However I would consider a well kept one, with a bit of service history and not too many owners a bonus.;)

with the age,you need to expect this kind of mileage. Buy based on condition and as much history as possible. As stated above these cars will run and run if looked after. Gorgeous car

Super car, and one of the last over engineered Mercs (although they seem to be finding their way back). Still very desirable and sought after, the UK is the place to look. I certainly would not worry about over 100K as long as it has a full history.

They are now knocking about for 4 grand ish so quite affordable if you are in work.

The main points of interest on the 93-96 year models are wiring looms on 6 cynider engines (so thats not an issue for you), weak subframe bushes and or corrosion and corrosion on the wheel arches - usually the front ones.

I know the mileage is higher than you are looking for but it is a 15 year old car and it looks very clean for it's age and has a nice spec:

Might be worth a closer look.

"Never given a days trouble." c'mon, 15 years old, they were good but not THAT good!

I wouldn't worry about the mileage OP, as said, if they are looked after with a good service history you should have no worries.

I remember in the last few years these seemed to be making a very pretty penny.

    Seems some still are,

    Very nice car though.

    +1

A lot of car for little layout in general for the merc E220.
Quite classy too for an olde barge - I'd have one.
