Anyone know where I can buy a Bowler hat? Preferably in Dublin. Also, it's for my wedding so I'm looking for the real deal not a novelty one and I'd like to try it on before I buy it so not looking for an online shop.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks for reading :)

Do you realise the historical connotations of wearing a bowler hat right? It instantly denotes you as a Tory and thus as a supporter of British colonialism etc.

Shouldn't you wear a top hat rather than a bowler at a wedding?

Who writes these rules? No, you can wear whatever the hell you like, it's your wedding.

    Individuality is a good thing....

I know a guy who got a good bowler (nice quality) from Georges street arcade. I went in looking for one myself but he didn't have any left. There is also a place called The Harlequin that sells novelty hats. I ordered a top hat from them. It just beside the arcade.

Slightly off topic but apparently foremen used wear the bowler hat-hence denotes some form of higher rank or superiority-apparently when Orangemen also wear them.

Hope you found a good one, they do look cool!
