Irish Driving Licence

Do Ireland have the new Driving Licence which Poland and the UK got in 2004 or do they still have the paper one which they always had.

We still have the former EU-standard paper licence we've had for about 20 years.

Oddly enuf manutd,the late Seamus Brennan TD,in his first major policy speech after becoming Minister for Transport declared that the introduction of a Credit Card style Driving Licence was his absolute priority.

Seamus is no longer with us,and his promise re the CC Driving Licence,like so many other political promises remains floating on the wind.......:o

Like many things, they're waiting on the EU to take care of it for them. There's an EU-wide credit card style driving license on its way in 2012 so we should get it then.
