Anyone else get around to seeing this yet? Had an hour and a half to kill yesterday so I checked it out and thought it was a simple but painfully emotional little film about a girl and her dog. One of those cases where less is more - short and simple story, but packs a real punch through Michelle William's wonderful performance and the real emotions. Very heartbreaking, but never feels overly sentimental or anything (and the lack of music is powerful). Sad but effective gem.

I think you summed it up perfectly there.

Agree 100% with everything you've said and I couldn't put in any better myself.

Actually watched it last night. Wonderful spare film. So little explained, no back story, no expression of characters motivation but the movie has been playing around in my head all day. It is so beautifully shot. Michelle William is brilliant in it. The minor characters provide emotional punch without doing or saying very much. This is definitely a less is more film. Highly recommended film. We also have Meek's Cutoff on DVD at home and looking forward to watching that now.
