Theirs nothing worth talking about yet. The two shops that sell airsoft stuff are overpriced and not the best quailty.

I bought an airsoft gun from corrib tackle, in the Liosbaun Industrial Estate in Galway, about a week ago and within 3 days it had broken. I brought it back and they were very rude and less than helpful, when I asked for a refund they became quite aggressive and abusive. My girlfriend also tried to reason with them based on my rights as a consumer but she just got the same agressive treatment and abusive language. I got a new gun, but will never darken their door again and I would advise others to do the same.

There is an airsoft store in Galway.

Eirsoft Galway, should be able to help you out.

It depends who you get to talk to in the stores. Cartronix is not bad at all, as one of the guys in there REALLY knows his stuff. In june my friend, on my advice, got a KJWorks CO2 GBB M1911A1 in there - we were on our way to a battle and he had no gun. WE test fired it in Mellenium park and the blowback nozzle blew up, the ENTIRE CO2 tank had vented in ONE shot and I had been holding it. The recoil was IMMENSE and the BB left the barrel at a LOT faster than 90m/s. Fellow airsoft players watching the test fure were making sounds like 'AWESOME' and 'That aint one ****ing joule for sure!' while I was in shock, the only word escaping my lips was 'fuuck!' and 'dude, this aint one joule'. We brought it back to Cartronix and the guy replaced it, test firing the replacement just in case.

More recently, I was given a Glock 17 GBB for repairs. The O ring seal thingy in the hop up had burst, the guy had muzzleloaded it and then BANG the internals blew. I looked at it and saw the trigger mech was no more than twisted metal. Brought it to Cartronix and the guy pronounced it absolutelt dead, and after a while I got my customer a replacement, and the guy in Cartronix bought the broken glock for bits for twenty euro - which I collect on thursday and buy CO2.

Looks like Cartronix is (or has already) going to hell now cause I just heard the sound lad that worked there is not there anymore. Heard it from the owner who proceeded to try and rip me off on the repair of my 2month old kjw m9a1. what a cowboy. heres more details about my plight: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=64237928&posted=1#post64237928

I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone anymore. I'll be sticking to buying online thats for sure from now on.

God I wish I'd read this thread before I went into those Corrib creeps.

They eventually replaced mine as well, after making a big deal about it, with another gas dumping piece of trash. When I bought that back to them they said it was down to the cold weather. By time I had bought something that worked elsewhere, & realised they had been lying to me all along, they said the warrentee had expired. Never going anywhere near these creeps ever again.

In fact I wouldn't go anywhere near anyone with an airsoft corner in their shop. Better to wait until you can get to a dedicated airsoft retailer run by an enthusiast. You'll get a better selection, deal, customer service, and your money goes back into the game, not into the hands of someone who thinks it's fun to rip off a geek.

Try Munster Airsoft if you ever are in Cork, or even better, Midwest Airsoft, Foxes Bow, Limerick. They have been the biz for me.

Myself, some mates and the guys who run my regular skirmish site have had bad experiences with Munster Airsoft. Just saying.

Im the opposite here. I got a KWC Desert Eagle in corrib tackle which broke fairly soon. The inner barrel slid out the front an inch after shots (I got 9 mags out of it before) You couldnt miss it. After 5 minutes I had my money back.

Is there still an eirsoft galway?
