Forgive the basic nature of the question please.

!n FSX I know how to get the cessna to fly a heading and altitude by autopilot. Is there a way to get it to fly the flight plan i created as well?

Can I get it to land the plane by autopilot.

Also where is the simplest place to go to download aircraft?

Just landed my first big jet. Great feeling!!!
    Many thanks.

    Paul

if you have created a flightplan in FS using the default flightplanner, yes, there is a "NAV/GPS" switch, flick that to GPS and press NAV on the autopilot

You can get the autopilot to fly the approach, but none of the default FS aircraft will autoland, you need a payware to do that

For downloading aircraft, I'd recommend www.avsim.com and www.flightsim.com Both sites have huge file libraries full of freeware stuff, and both regualrly review payware titles, so you can get an idea of what they're like before you fork out your hard-earned cash. :)
As well as that, both sites have active forums, news items, feature articles and just about anything else an avid 'flightsimmer' could want!

Bugsyboy dont apologise for questions :) Thats one of the reaons this forum exists is to share knowladge etc.

The autolanding stuff is a bit tricky to get used to but every plane follows the same basic principals and once you learn one one ILS approach you'll manage them all. Best idea is to google Flightsim ILS tutorial and you'll find plenty of guides and videos on youtube to help or do one of the lessons in flighsim itself to give you an overview.

    Basic Question

How do I press NAV onm the autopilot (i am flying a Cessna 172) Do you mean NAV on the Garmin or is the NAV button on the plane's cockpit display?

    Cheers

It's in the radio stack (shift-4?)

There might also be a NAV/GPS switch, hit that to GPS
