Hey, I am trying to make an image (logo) that one can resize without any of those nasty artifices jepg has. From what I can gather .svg would be a good file choice. Would I be right in thinking this? If so, how would one go about making a .svg image?

Vector or SVG.
If you dont have Adobe Illustrator then Inkscape is very capable of doing logos.
Its Open Source and free.
