how long will it take a planning permission application in Dublin?
trying to buy to extend to the side (both storeys keeping the look of the house) and back (only ground floor), some 50-60 sq m in total

also, how difficult is to get PP for an extension of the top floor to the back?
garden is 11.5m and faces another similar garden at the back (I guess some 23 meters from wall to wall)
I'd like to extend the top floor some 3.5 metres if possible
no other house nearby has done that

You should have put this in the construction and planning forum.

As far as i know planning takes 3 months.

As for the proposed development, do you envisage any objections from neighbours?

    regarding opposals
I don't think the extension on the ground floor will be opposed, next door has done the same and also using the whole width of their land
about the top floor extension to the back, I don't know

PP will take at least 3 months and depending on the location of windows in your proposed extension (on the top floor) and neighbouring properties it may be a tad difficult. Have a look at other adjacent properties or trawl through the Council's online planning system to see what others there are in the locality.
