I've never imported any airsoft related items from china before and I'm
completely lost. I've found exactly what i want at http://www.tokyo-model.com/hk
and i have no idea where i go from here. Can anyone help or direct me to a guide.
    Thanks in advance.

First off check the local retailers eirsoft, airsofteire ats etc, you can normally order directly from the sites in the far east but depending on the site can cost a fair bit and depending on the price you might also get hit for import tax on top. Also double check the fps of the one you are looking anything advertised above 328 fps is illegal here. What piece are looking for? Also welcome to having no money airsoft is more addictive than heroine, less calories too :-)

I would advise going with an Irish retialer dude. Atleast with an Irish one you have comeback (Not to mention you are keeping the money in the country).

Im lookin to get upgrade parts for my GBB pistol. Also in the near future i hope to get a VSR-10 Sniper Rifle rated at 300fps. Basicly im concerned that they'll get stopped at customs and get held up until i pay some tax or duty

Also these parts im lookin for are only available from HK

You can pretty much bet on that.

Most of the Irish retailers will be happy to order parts for you.

Can you suggest/direct me to an Irish retailer who might order them for me.

    Try : http://www.corkairsoftshop.com/shopdata/index.php
They're down your neck of the woods.

Thanks for the link but i'd still like to know about importing.
Can anyone help me with a few details.
    note: shipping via ups

Do i have to make any declarations and if the package
is stuck in customs will they tell me and how would i go
about contacting them and paying the taxes.

Also i just realised that this may not belong in the airsoft
forum but i was hoping someone here might have experience
    in importing from HK.

Op, the first thing to do, is email the store in HongKong and check to see will they first deliver to Ireland.

They will normally explain their procedures to you.

With reference to customs, ring them, they'll be able to answer most of your questions.:)

Might want to read this before you go ordering AEGs/GBBs/etc. ...

Isn't this website run by the same group which runs tokyohobby, WWII guns, etc?

If it is then you would be better off purchasing from an Irish retailer.

I went looking last night and it would appear not to be, but I am no authority on that.

I dont think so. As far as I know Tokyohobby is Japanese and Tokyo-Model is
    HK based.

Tokyo Model is HK based as said above and is not owned or related to Tokyo Hobby in any way!

Tokyo Model are an excellent - One of the best ones in HK imo. Ordered quite a lot from them myself.

Thanks for the clarification. I've been very wary of buying things from sites that start with tokyo since I was almost scammed from the wwII group.

I've watched this thread with interest and maybe I'm wrong but isn't tokio in Japan?

Bottom line is. If they don't know what country their in, then don't trust the ****ers.

I found a review for the company at http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/reviewpost/showproduct.php/product/233/sort/2/cat/all/page/1 .
    They seem fairly legit.

I'm looking to get an AEG from Gunner Airsoft. He has quoted me for delivery by TNT Express. Can anyone tell me if there's still an issue with bringing AEG's in, even if not with Hong Kong post. Cheers.

Most of gunners guns are HOT but if you ask them to downgrade it to 1joule they usually do it free (They did for me, the only draw back is it can take some time to process, do the work)
They will then add to the shipping papers that it was downgraded by them which customs here likes and it won't have to bad a stop over.
TnT are usually nice and fast too

I've bought 2 AEG's from gunner without issue

Ya, he's downgrading it for free alright.. Any ideas on the time he takes to downgrade them. Was it long since you brought in the last AEG, or was it recently. No major delays at customs, etc?? cheers.

I think the downgrade can take about 2 working weeks as they do ship alot of guns Internationally so the work shop boys have to do alot of them.
I got an SL8 from them last month once they shipped, it flew here and only had a short stop over in customs of a few hours which suprised me the most. I credit that to Gunners shipping dockets.

    Cheers for the info.

Anyone know if AEG's are still getting through from Ehobby Asia as well.

Once the retailer ships them with Fedex, UPS, TNT and one or two others, and they're legal in this country, they'll get here.

You might possibly run into one or two smaller Asian retailers who dont know Ireland isnt part of the UK, and they'll have a no-guns policy, because they think UKARA applies to us. For the most part though, you shouldnt have any problems.

Dont forget....if gun is under 1 joule of power, it is LEGAL in Ireland, and customs have no right to bar its entry - the worst that can happen is it'll be sent for ballistic testing, and while this might take awhile, you'll get it back eventually.
