Has anyone ever heard of a fireplace heat blower ? It uses a fan outside the fireplace which blows air up along 4 pipes.. the pipes are heated by the fire so warm air is blown out the top of the pipes back into the room....

We bought one about 20 years ago somewhere in Ballinasloe but have not seen them anywhere since then.. They can be got in the US but would cost a fortune to ship over.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many of the 'insert' stoves have this tech now, giving c 78-81% efficiency versus 20% for open fire
