Hi, I just got mine today after ordering it from an American website (not sur if we can mention sites here but PM me if you want to know the one I used).

Based on the price for the same dress that I tried on here I saved nearly 1,000, well 850 after customs charges. The dress was perfect, it is an original and I measured myself based on guides on the site and fits just right. Was delivered few weeks earlier than I thought too so I'm defintely happy I went that way.

Ive heard nothing only good reports of people doing this so long as it is off a reputable dealer its amazing the saving you can make like the previous posted im thinking of doing it myself i will save about 1000 Euro  on the dress i want. Not sure if your using it but if you check out "Weddings online" thousands of brides to be on this site & lots have bought from the U.S you will get alot of info there about it. Oh and congratulations :D

Thanks both of you! Been googling away, more research! Just waiting on some replies to my emails, bit less apprehensive now thank god! I'm not willing to pay nearly €1000 for a dress here that I can get elsewhere for less than half that!

I ordered from www.jaysbridal.com and the dress is perfect. Like the others I saved around 1000 eur. They often do offers of free delivery worldwide.
    Would definitely recommend it.

I think I'm actually going demented looking at dresses at this stage! They're all really good sites, I can't understand how the bridal shops here are still in business considering the crazy mark up on dresses.

I spent the last 10 weeks debating this exact thing......but decided against buying online. I tried on a fell in love with the dress of my dreams here in the south....but they were looking for €1550 for it......I loved it so much i nearly put down a deposit there and then......thanks heavens for a pushy bridesmaid who refused to let me.
I found the dress online on a few very reputable sites and was amazed to find that i could buy it for half the price. But being that I had to go for a custom made version......being taller than the standard size and not your typical shape either, that added another $75 on top.
It was still very good value.......but i decided to price up north being that i live so close to it anyway.

This is where i was truely amazed......I am getting the dress through an authorised dealer in a shop in the north.....for £735......or €800 approx. I was measured there so that i am sure i have the correct measurements and i am not going to be hit with some customs charge either.

Look into this option too...you might be pleasantly surprised......I'd have saved maybe $50 at the height if i'd bought online.
Find your perfect dress....go to the offical website...find the northern Irish stockists and phone a few and get the bext deal. It worked out perfectly for me....

    Good luck x x x

Thanks so much! I hadn't thought about going up north for a gander, any excuse for a road trip! Gonna have a look for Eden stockists up there now! Exploring all my options but I'll have to make a decision soon, gotta get a wriggle on, only 6 months to go! I have everything sorted except myself! I'm so glad I joined this, the advice is invaluable :)

Have you tried on dresses yet? You may be surprised by what suits you. If you go and try on dresses, get an idea of what suits (even a style name and number) then you can be sure that what you order on the internet is going to suit you when it comes!

You have the right idea of shopping on line and saving a fortune, rip off Ireland doesn't just apply to the groceries:D
