I left the insurance disc and tax disc on the car :o Change of ownership form is signed by the buyer but I forgot to take the discs off the window. What is the correct procedure? Will ring my insurance co. on Monday morning to tell them I no longer have the car but should I ask for the disc back from the buyer? There's 3 months tax left but I figured that would be a selling point!

As long as you send off the log book and its dated it should be no problem . The tax disc stays with the car btw

Yeah just call your insurance company and cancel it. Possibly if they have a website you can email and cancel it that way.

Did you send off the change of ownership form or give it to the buyer?

Unless scraping the car the road tax belongs with the car and new owner,
Ownership has been changed and your insurance transferred to your new vehicle. You have nothing to worry about.
    all the best

Thanks :D I was worried in case the insurance company might want the disc back as proof. I have the change of ownership form and he has the registration certificate.

He shouldn't have the registration certificate, you are supposed to send this away. If he doesn't send it away you will still be liable for all fines associated with the car as you will still be the registered owner.

Bugger, he said he kept that one. I thought once I had the licensing cert/change of ownership it would be ok.
