I'm looking for a copy of "The Courier", made in Dublin circa 1987 starring Gabriel Byrne.

A friend of mine was in it & he's long since lost his copy (careless). He's turning 40 next month & I thought it would be a nice gift for him.

It was never released on DVD so it's VHS if anyone would have a copy they would be willing to part with or loan.

    TNX

Sure the makers of that movie are so embarrassed it will never get a DVD release.

Is this the one with Brendan Gleeson in it? I'm pretty sure my lecturer showed us a scene from this in our film studies lecture the other week...you sure its not out on DVD?

It's the crap thriller from 1986 where Dublin was considered the rock capital of the world .
Terrible acting, dire music on the soundtrack from mullet bands, uneven direction (had two chiefs), lots of future Fair City 'talent' on display, and a slick-glossy look that didn't work in mid-'80s recession ridden Dublin.
Probably the main reason the first Film Board got abolished a year later :p

Not that one, this is the Gabriel Byrne muck fest featuring such wonderful dialogue as:

"I don't care what you're doin, or who you're screwin"

Where's DWCommuter when ya need him, he loves this one! :D
