    Hi All,

    The irish open is on next weekend and this year its over 3 days with the team events on Friday night. If your info semi or light contact this is a class tournament.

    Did you not read the post? It's semi and light contact kickboxing open to all styles, karate, kickboxing and taekwodo etc. This isn't my style of fighting but I've heard this competition is one of the biggest and best run in Europe and makes money for charity. They can call it what they like.

    Did you not read the post? It's semi and light contact kickboxing open to all styles, karate, kickboxing and taekwodo etc. This isn't my style of fighting but I've heard this competition is one of the biggest and best run in Europe and makes money for charity. They can call it what they like.


    He's only having the craic, I think most people involved in martial arts in this country will know The Open the OP is referring to.

    Is Roy Baker still involved?.

    I've competed in it myself, its a fantastic event & brilliantly run.

    And as you've said, the proceeds go entirely to charity.

    Involved is probably an understatement :)
    He runs it, start to finish.

    and many a good fighter has cut his cloth at the irish open and moved onto bigger and more serious stuff.
