Eh, why would I pull you for posting a link we all can read and then discuss:rolleyes:

Your trying to be smart didn't work:)

Your previous thread was deleted because it meant nothing without a link and I have asked many times to try to provide a link, maybe you didn't know
this policy, you do now, so away we go

    Thanks

I can't find anthing definitive to say the show is OFF.
Nothing on boxrec.com, http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=344849&cat=boxer or Eastside boxing.

    I wonder what this means

Thanks Paul, look Chicky, a simple link is all I was looking for; lets draw a line under this now and give YOUR thread a chance.

This has ZERO to do with a power trip, and you know it

Well, is the boxing still on or not on March 16th. I take it that it is

Looks like it is indeed cancelled. poor sales, economy etc etc

Thanks Joe, that is very disappointing indeed

Thats bad, the advertising must of been real poor for it, i cant believe people are not going due to the recession!

more like, they would not spend money on advertising due to the economy!

F**k it. I am just about finished editing my interview with Dean Byrne and I log in to find out that this show is cancelled.
Half my interview is about this?

    B**lix to it anyway.

On a side note though, if Peters has any sense, he will try get a couple of these fights onto the Dunne card, lord knows it needs an undercard.

The Lee fight would be a good start anyway, although it is probably to late now to get it organised.

I know that Jim was havin problems with managers "asking to much for their fighters" but I would have thought the easiest card on the planet to sell would be an Irish card in NE USA around "St. Patty's"

Would've been if they'd advertised it..........

I can confirm the show is cancelled for reason unknown, i spoke to eddie hyland today and they cancelled the show without giving the boxers any reasons, but on the good side paschal collins managed to fit eddie onto his bill on the 14th of march in boston.

Agreed but will Peters do it probably not

peters will not have anyone but his own stable fighters on the bill, it will be too pricey for him to add 2 or 3 more decent fights.
word has it cordoba is getting €200,000 and god only knows what dunne will get, probably the same??
andy murray should be looking at €7,500 - €10,000
    jim rock around €8,000
and oisin fagan got ripped off in his last fight so id reckon he is only looking at €2,000 - €3,000 (he only got €7,000 for the khan fight).

he should ideally add andy lee as im sure he would get great support up from limerick,
any of the hyland brothers as they are good ticket sellers in dublin,
or even dean byrne im sure people would like to see him over here for the first time too
BUT THIS IS ONLY MY VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT!!!!

Could this be Peters last big payday with Dunne? Why put together an expensive undercard, less profit at the end of the night. Remember Peters is the promoter, in the business of making money. Dunne's manager should have asked for more than the champion, but his manager is Peters, lol.

Well it hasn't sold out, so if he did have an undercard of note, ticket sellers like Lee could fill it up. The Hylands are also great sellers, anyone of them would do.

One fight he should get on the undercard is Anto Fitzgerald Vs Robert Long.
Anyone who saw their fight in Citywest will attest to what a great fight it was.
Another war between these two would sell tickets, get the crowd going for the main event and wouldn't cost Peters a great deal. The atmosphere in Citywest that night between Anto and Robbie's fans was boisterous to say the least.

its too early to get them against each other again, they both said next time they meet they would like to fight for the irish title, which is understandable, so i cant see peters adding anyone else on the show, at the end of the day its all money out of his pocket

Peters should defo get a couple of these fighters on the bill. Im sure he could pull something off for very little. get the remaining 1/4 of the tickets sold.

Definitely. Plus what fighter wants to see a good training camp wasted? I'd say that's one of the most frustrating things that could happen, all that sparring and running and dedication and then it's just, hey, fight's off bud.

He should definitely try to get Dean Byrne, though. There seems to be a good buzz around him, especially with so little footage available and his famous name-dropping of late. Plus, he'd flog a shedload of tickets.

i dont think dean byrne will be fighting over here anytime soon from what ive heard . but he should defo get andy lee on the bill . it is a ****ing useless undercard at the moment and if it dosent get better i dont think i will be going to another peters fight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 790 ✭✭✭alanceltic

yeah the card is pretty ****e bar the main event obviously, the facts are it will likely still sell out coz dunne is a big big draw and this is actually counter productive in a way as there doesnt need a huge amount of effort on the undercard to sell tickets unlike other cards in the UK where the main event would probably draw only 1,000 tickets (have you ever seen a fri fight night in an arena with plus 1,000 and they have to work a lot harder on a decent undercard)
