Mac Mini play 1080p, full hd?

So, there's a new Mac mini with displayport connections on it, with upgraded graphics and a few bits and bobs.

So what I was wondering, could I use this mini to play full 1080p movies? Maybe get a displayport-hdmi converter and use the digital out for the sound?

I think I'd be happy saving a bit more to get a mini as opposed to getting apple tv or the cheaper wd tv. The mini would become a more integrated part of my home then, being on the network, being a fully working computer too.

So, yeah, will it play full HD movies?

I have a 1.8ghz mac mini core duo (two gens ago)
This outputs 1920 resolution on my 24" display, via DVI.
It plays some HD video OK not that great on motion though.
I'd say this new one will do a fine job of Full HD, especially with the new graphics chip.
Probably best to wait for the benchmarks to be totally sure of the performance of the video,
Would also be interesting to see how well the new airport radios work.
