    Hi

I was wondering is parking readily available at DCU. I live on the southside and parking at UCD (Belfield) is just a no go.

    Thanks

    Prospective DCU student

Its hit an miss, it all dependa what time your in at, if your in at 9 all car parks will have space, after 9 only the multi sotrey does and even that fills up. In the afternoon its a game of chance, some days there will be space other days there wont, youll get parking on local estates tho

yes, I think students and staff can get some kind of 5 or 6 passes for 7.70 euro

6 pass ticket for €7, but even without that its very reasonable, €1 and hour a good bit cheaper than most places

For the carpark behind the Henry Grattan, all you have to do is feed your student card into the machine thingy instead of pushing a button for a ticket and there's free parking there.

It's odd, i've been in there at different times of the day and always seemed to find a space whereas some of my friends can never get one. Think it's just a game of luck!

i will be starting to drive in some days over the next few weeks.

would it be easy enough to get a free space at 9 on a friday?

Yeah I think an email or something went around recently though saying that an ambulance couldn't get through those small roads in estates because of people parking on both sides of the road. If you do park there, make sure there's space for bigger vehicles to fit through.

I've found I'm able to get spaces until about 9.30 -10 am then it has that bloody annoying 'this carpark is full' reading on the machine and you can't even get in.

    never got that email,
but its a public road and you pay your motor tax so no one can stop you parking there..
