A compression tester will only cost you about €20... Its only a one way valve and a gauge. Its fairly simple to complete the test....

They are of limited usefulness, cause if you do get a low compression reading, there can be any number of causes and you normally need more testing to identify the source of the low compression (ie a leakdown test)...

yeah I realise that but it would tell me if its the fuel pump or not.
Do you know anywhere that does leakdown tests?

If you break wind when sitting do you hover one to two inches above your chair? more than two inches would suggest that you have been modified, ie a gas flowed rectum or stage two piles. If less than one inch it could be a leak from an intestinal gasket usually accompanied by lots of burping, if you were born 62-65 it might be worth checking the seals in your inner ears, they usually only last 45ish years or so.

You can buy a car compression testing kit on ebay for about a tenner, I would think any good motor factor would have it also.

your looking for a pressure gauge, that will measure the pressure in your fuel rail.... you'll find various ones on the internet for petrol injection cars....
