    ive shown the first trailer to 8 people at a session. 3 of them non trekies liked it 1 treike liked it and myself and 4 other trekies hated it so time will tell. i have low expetations for this film and i think ill avoid the trailer - dont want to get all pissed off and create a large post listing everything wrong with it.... again

    Without spoiling anything, I think this trailer is designed with the Trek fan in mind, more than the others which were geared to the general audience.

    There are some pretty significant scenes in there.

    Yeah was thinking that, they are far to young to be in command, Its like that episode of DS9 where Jake and NOog get rescued by the Valiant which is piloted by Red Squad.

    I'll still go see it but really will be leaving my brain at the door.

    Thats the best looking trailer I have seen in a long time.
    It might be worth a watch after all.

    The cast look to be late 20s - mid 30s. Don't think they're too young at all to be commanding a starship.

    Hey at least they won't go into a race at one point and go "Whhheeeeee!" That level of ignominy is reserved for a different Star* franchise.

    Christ that was an awful episode. This looks like it might be better, though I would have preferred if they had simply made it Kirk's first mission in command.

    Looking forward to the film, and I have yet to watch the trailer.

    A friend from the old neighborhood is the Art Director on the film.
