Train Fine

    Hi

    Hoping someone can advise me here.

    I received a train ticket fine last July I believe which was paid. It was paid well with in the 21 days.

    I received a call this morning saying it hadn't been paid and that I was being summoned to appear in court.

    Have they grounds to summon me to court? I have tried to expain the situation to them but they are insisting it wasn't paid.

    Also, they had my address taken down wrong - correct Street, incorrect Number.

    Can someone please advise?

    You say you paid the fine! Can you prove you paid it? If so go to court and show the judge that you did indeed pay the fine! I'm assuming that you cannot pay cash to them so how did you pay it?

    Thanks JP.

    They do take cash payments. You can pay when you get the fine also at the station with cash.

    I actually can't say concretely that I got a receipt or anything, it was so long ago.

    I was just told a summons had been issued - If I don't receive it and don't show at court what will happen?

    Also just to add . . . I boarded the train to Connolly (where a ticket is pretty much required unless I jump over barriers) And where I got on, there is Ticket Barriers there so my ticket Is required.
