Ceiling Paint Flaking Away in Bathroom

Bought a house there a while back, no extractor fan in the bathroom and dicovered the previous owners had painted over the black gunk over the shower!

Not really a problem any more- removed the grime, repainted the ceiling and installed an extractor fan, which has worked in the sense that there is no huge build-up of condensation on the ceiling. However, the paint just above the shower is flaking away rather quickly at the moment.

Just wondering is there anything I can do when re-applying the paint to prevent it flaking again? Maybe a different type of paint?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get stablising solution to seal ceiling before painting again. Make sure you use a matt finish as softsheen or vinyl silk will create droplets more than a matt finish would.

You can get the stablising solution in either oil based or water based. I'd recommend the water based one for inside.
