You'll find mostly Americans just doing the quick search stuff, though if you're just playing casually and both have alright connections, you may not notice the input lag.

Some games can be unbearable though.

not a single fight ive ever had has shown up any signal at all, yet ive never encountered any lag at all

I think the signal status bar is kinda broken. Most connects I see is at one red bar but the connection varies from laggy to no lag at all. It's actually putting me off playing SF4. Just out of interest, what ISP are you guys with? I am using UPC which is generally not great for games.

You're probably fighting mostly Americans, try adding some people's gamertags from the thread here and see if it's better.

Why should the other games i`ve played online be any different than this, this should be simple ****,i`ve never had any trouble with connecting with other folks on other games no matter where they are, i think were getttin ripped off

Yeah, let's go burn down the offices of Capcom, they're stealing our bandwidth and using it to host nazi propaganda.

On a more serious note, fighting games require low latencies down to the frame level, which most other games can do without.

Why should it be simple though? it has to process really fast button combinations and stay in sync, possibly more work than an FPS for the console.

will you ever crawl out of your mammys bra, how can you compare killzone 2 which has only been out what 2 or 3 wks and ive no probs with that but Street fighter I do why??? its as simple as games cum!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭Dreddybajs

It's been explained to you in the last few posts.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭lewis

Bollox nothingshould be explained, its a game like the rest its as simple as they cum but no online action, if that aint happening then F YOU. simple as that

So you started a thread on Boards.ie hoping that would make your Street Fighter IV signal become stronger?

Yeah its frustrating alright in terms of finding people to connect to (1 out of every 6-7 unable to connects) and then not really knowing where the guy is (is he in the EU or US or Australia)

The game uses p2p connections where as other games would connect to a server.

You start making yourself look bad m8 when you start saying **** like fighting games are really simple so should be less taxing on internet bandwith. Its doesnt work like that, and sure fighting games might just be the hardest genre to get decent online play with.

PSN and the online console experience in general is a bit annoying I must say. Can't wait for the PC version.

Anyway Lewis heres some tips for yea.

Try connecting to people from here and see how things go when connecting to someone in Ireland.

Try hosting games instead of joining them. Press R1 when at the menu screen and allow for people to challenge you when your playing arcade mode. So instead of sitting waiting , you can play the game while waiting for someone to challenge you. Normally they come fast enough.

That should help you gets some games in. Good luck. & calm the feck down man.
