XFR beats M5? XKR trouces Aston?

Or so it seems from some very positive press reviews. For example Richard Porter (Evo/Sniff Petrol) has stated that the XKR trouces just about any Aston currently on sale.

Now I know this place is full of BMW fan boys and I know the British press will always bend over backways to praise a British Indian product. But the looks, interior, engineering and non-footballers' wife image of the latest Jags make 'em pretty desireable IMO.

Pity the biggest economic crisis in a lifetime came along when it did - Jag are on a roll. Even in the current climate the XF diesel is becoming a common(ish) site around Dublin. If introduced a year or so earlier it would have cleaned up...

The current 4.2 litre XKR is a fantastic car to drive. Amazing V8 growl behind your head. Handles great, and is gorgeous looking. I can only imagine what the new 5.0 version with an extra 90bhp or so will be like.

I've driven an SV8 XF too - not quite an XFR but its the same engine from the current XKR. With the suspension mods, and extra power i'd bet the XFR will wipe the floor with an M5.

Your right about the looks too - i dont think a driver in an XFR will get quite the same comments as one in an M5.
