    Hi all,

    Thought I should introduce myself.
Been reading posts on this forum for quite while now trying to broaden my knowledge of cycling in general. I have always been into doing a bit of leisure cycling but lately I want to do more.
As i'm from killarney I plan on doing the ROK cycle, I bought my first road bike today a second hand 2008 Trek 1.2.
I'm very happy with the bike, just want some sunny nice dry days to kick off my training:)

Everyone was new at some point (some of us are still new).

Good luck with the bike, the 1.2 is a solid bike to start on, looks well and should give many happy kms.

EDIT: Might want to save yourself the hassle and post us your credit card, be prepared to be slapped in platinum cuffs by Wiggle.

Best of luck on the Ring hope to do same. Slightly diferent format this year. I hear Radio Kerry are the main sponsors of it.
Might see you up the Gap of Dunloe some Sunday morn, I think one of the finest cycles in Western Europe

@ daroadlescycled - Must definately make it up the gap some morning, must work on the fitness first though. Some fantastic views to be had along that road!

ROK is a great cycle, very well organised and a great target to motivate you to get some training in. The more you do now the easier it will be on the day. My first road bike was a Trek 1000, the forerunner of the 1.2, and I have fond memories of it (before it ruined my back due to it being the wrong size :))
