Do you mean Benzene or Benzyne? Benzyne is much rarer than Benzene and is an Alkyne, right - i.e. it has a triple bond?

Here's what Encarta 2007 says about it:

"Benzine, or ligroin, light, colourless fluid obtained from the fractional distillation of petroleum. The name is applied to liquid distillates that have a lower boiling point than kerosine, especially those used as solvents, but it is often indistinguishable in composition from petrol. A good solvent for fats, gums, and resins, benzine is used extensively in the dry cleaning of clothes and the manufacture of varnishes and drugs. Because it is volatile and flammable, benzine is also used to enrich coal gas and sometimes for fuel.

This is more confusing than a David Lynch film. Benzine is indeed as Encarta describes. It's a mixture of several shortchain alkanes. Benzene is that 6-membered aromatic system we all know and love. Benzyne is the aryne derived from benzene. It's a cyclic 6 carbon hydrocarbon with a triple bond. IUPAC say : aryne; benzynes

Don't know exactly what you are looking for; reactions it undergoes, properties? Here are some physical properties and simulated 1H and 13C spectra anyway.
